The Glacier logo, “glacier by Sanlam”, always appears in a lockup. The proportions of the logo lockup are fixed and may not be altered or adjusted in any way.
The primary, or full-colour logo lockup is a custom-designed typographic representation of our company and brand. It displays the Glacier name in a distinctive and proprietary form. The primary logo lockup consists of two parts:
The logo lockup must never be redrawn, traced, scanned or separated. The official primary logo lockup can be requested from Glacier Marketing.
The clear space is defined as shown in the grid below. This is the minimum clearance permitted and should be adhered to at all times. This is to optimise the impact the brand makes and to keep its appearance as consistent as possible.
The unit of measurement, indicated by “X”, is the width of the “gl” in “glacier”, which is also the unit’s height. This is the formula to determine the clear space around the logo.
This clear space is a minimum – more space should be allowed where possible. The preferred width of the logo lockup on A4 pages is 32 mm. The minimum width on A6 and smaller pages is 22 mm (or 70 px).
The logo lockup should always appear with the specified clear space and at the minimum size.
The logo lockup can appear in the colour variations shown below. These variations are typically determined by the colour or photographic background on which the logo lockup resides. The preferred logo construct remains the primary logo lockup.
Logo assets are available for print and on-screen applications.
Do not use any other colour scheme than the ones shown here. Do not alter any aspect or element of the logo lockup. The logo lockup must never be redrawn, traced, scanned or separated. The official corporate logo lockup can be requested from Glacier Marketing.
Do not use any other colours than the approved ones. Do not alter any aspect or element of the logo lockup.
The tag line should always be the same height as that of the m in “by Sanlam”, indicated as the x-height, which is its height from the baseline, as shown below.
“Think World Class” can be separated from the logo lockup. However, the height must remain the same as the x-height of “by Sanlam”.
“Think World Class” is only to be used in marketing material, where deemed necessary. When the tag line appears in copy, it should be in title case: “Think World Class”.
The logo lockup can appear either top right or bottom right in a layout, as shown below. Centre-aligned logo lockups are only to be used for event collateral, or where space is limited. This placement will be at the designer’s discretion.
The logo lockup sizing guidelines are indicated below.
